Sad and odd
A 21-year-old USC architecture major who was arrested earlier this week for abandoning her newly-born baby in the trash had a similar run-in with the law last year. In the previous case, she was investigated for arriving at a hospital showing symptoms of having recently given birth but without a baby.
The sad part of all this is that California has a law permitting anyone to drop off a newborn baby at any hospital or fire station with no questions asked. A healthy white baby (as presumably her's were), would have easily found loving homes with adoptive parents. After her brush with the law last year, the woman, Holly Ashcraft, presumably would have known about this law.
Odd. . . and sad.

why is it that because her baby would have been healthy and white would have made it easy to place in a home? is that a fact or is it an opinion?
matter of fact, does that statement not say to black women to throw theirs away also, since no-one is going to want them anyway?
can u answer that?

Dear Trina:
That is a fact, not an opinion, or an endorsement. I don't have any references to point you towards, but I am sure that it won't take more than five minutes of research to find that white babies up for adoption in this country are at a premium. That is why you see so many chinese, eastern european and latin american babies who are adopted abroad by american parents and then brought back to this country.
I don't make the facts, I just report them.
