Fighting Smarter
There are a couple of interesting articles in today's papers about how US military units are adapting to better fight the insurgencies in Iraq and Afghanistan. Traditionally, one of the distinctive strengths of the US military has been its ability to improvise and adapt in the face of new challenges. It's good to see that these traditions have been maintained.
- Tom Ricks has a great feature in today's WaPo on what the 3rd ACR has been doing right in Tall Afar, Iraq.
- John Kifner has a more superficial piece in the NYT describing the language and cultural training the 10th Mountain Division is receiving as it prepares to deploy to Afghanistan.
