Wafa Sultan, Islam's Reformist Superstar
LA-based, Arab-American psychologist Wafa Sultan is the subject of an admiring profile by John Broder in today's NYT. Sultan became widely known for her outspoken criticism of Islam's backwardness in an Al Jazeera broadcast last month.
Emblematic of Islam's deeper problems, Sultan's criticisms of Islam have led to death threats rather than debate about her ideas.
